Parish Plan

The Parish Council would like to put together a 'Communit Led Plan' formerly known as a 'Parish Plan'. This document allows the people living in Grendon a way of deciding for themselves how they would like their village to develop.

It looks into things as listed below, although this list is not definitive:

1. Ammenities

2. Traffic

3. Roads

4. Environment

5. Development

It then decides how to implement changes to each area thats looked into to make the community better for the people living within it. Unfortunately this is not something the Parish Council can undertake on its own because for it to be taken seriously and then acted on by the local coucil it needs to be produced by members of the community so that it has some legitimacy attached to it.

Whilst the Parish Council will help as much as it can we need some volunteers to undertake parts of the plan so we are arranging a meeting to discuss this with interested parties. This meeting is schedueled for 28th June 2010 at 7pm in the Parish Rooms on Spon Lane. Once we have confirmed the rooms are available on that date then we will confirm the meeting on this web site and also on the notice board by the post box and bus shelter outside Grendon News.

In light of recent problems we have had in Grendon such as the The Waste Site and closure of the School we cannot stress how important it is to get this document completed. It is very likely the school and waste site will be developed at some point in the near future and we need to ensure we get some facilties to service any extra houses.

At this moment in time Grendon itself has very little in terms of ammenities, especially for children. Crossing the A5 or Boot Hill is not safe for young children to get to the play areas within Baddesley. Therefore we need to let the council know what we want for our village.

Please keep your eyes out for conformation of the meeting on the 28th June at 7pm and we look forward to seeing as many of you as possible there.

Thank you,

Reporting a road issues directly to the council

If you have noticed something you are not happy about like a pothole in a road within the parish please visit this website as it allows you to report the matter directly to the council. This hopefully should result in it being sorted out a lot quicker than the normal process.

http://www.fixmystreet.com

You can report things like streetlight failures, abandoned vehicles, problems with car parking, bus stops, dog fouling, road sign issues etc. The list of options is fairly extensive.

All you need to do is put in the post code, street name or area. This will bring a map into view. Find the place of interest on the map by moving the map around using your mouse and then clicking on the exact point of interest. This is place a flag onto the map whilst taking you through to another page where you can choose from a drop down list the problem as shown above.

Then fill in the details of the problem. You can also upload a picture if you have taken one. All you then need to add is your name (tick the box if you do not want your name published next to the complaint) along with your e-mail and an optiona phone number. Then press send.

You will then recieve an e-mail that you need to click on the link to confirm the complaint. If you do not click on the link the complaint will not be lodged with the council.

If you are not sure about any of the above please contact us using the contact form on the parish website.

Thank you.
